Jason grew up on Long Island, NY and Richmond, VA. He started attending church as a youth in Richmond, which began his spiritual journey. He went to James Madison University and received a Degree in Music Education. He taught high school choir and IB Music at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, VA before answering God’s call to full-time ministry. Jason went to Candler School of Theology at Emory University where he received his Masters of Divinity in 2005. He also met his wife Sarah at Candler while she was attending seminary. Jason served at Fairfax United Methodist Church as associate pastor for 7 years. During that time, Jason and Sarah welcomed their two sons into the world: Hunter, who is 8, and Graham who is 5. Before serving at Burke, Jason served as pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hampton, VA. In 2015, Jason received his Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Seminary in Church Leadership Excellence. ​Jason is passionate about the church being a conduit of God’s grace in the community. Jason has a passion for intentional and meaningful worship, transformational mission and spiritual growth through learning and community.
